CHALLENGE CUP
25-26-27 AUGUST

These competitions have no bearing on provincial eligibility.  Provincial eligibility will be determined from regular league standings.
Champions Challenge will follow the traditional format:
Top four to six teams are eligible:
17BA,17GA,U21MEN,U21WMN. These groups will be composed of the top 4 teams only. Format is 4th v 1st, 2nd v 3rd and winners play for Gold & Silver.
In a 6 team group, like 13BA, 15GA, the top 2 teams will get a bye in the first round,
3rd plays 6th, 4th plays 5th, top team plays, seed 2, and second plays seed one, winners of these games play for gold and silver league medals
Where there are only 5 teams in a group like 13GA, or 15BA, we will follow this format:
4th plays 5th, winner of this game will advance and play the 1st place team, 2nd plays 3rd, and the winners advance to the final, to play for Gold and silver.
Where there are only 4 teams, the top 2 teams will play a final.
This competition has no bearing on provincial placement.  Provincial placement will be determined from regular league standings.
Teams are responsible for Referee fees. Fees are split between teams for any game played.

Challenge Cup: This season will see the Challenge Cup played over the course of the weekend as well.
TEAMS MUST REGISTER TO PLAY IN THIS TOURNAMENT- THE REGISTRATION FORM IS AVAILABLE ONLINE AND REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE JULY 31st.
The traditional format is a bracketed knockout tournament.  Teams are placed in brackets from the draw of a hat, league standings do not count in this tournament.
Because we are potentially fitting 80 teams into 2.5 days of play, we are making one significant change to the format. The first round will be a single game, instead of the usual 2 game first round. Teams losing their first match will get a second chance in the consolation round and those teams will play for Bronze medals.
Again, depending on the number of teams registering to play we may need to adjust the game length, but we cannot predict this now. We have to wait for registration to be completed.
Teams are responsible for Referee fees. Fees are split between teams for any game played
Watch for more information later in the season.
