BACKPACKS FOR KIDS

We will assist 170 children by providing back packs filled with school supplies! This year, we hope to raise enough funds to provide the children with a new pair of shoes as well. In addition, our goal is to make this a fun event, with food, games and prizes.
It is through the support of community minded businesses, such as yours, that we are able to provide members of our community assistance when it is most needed. Any donations are welcomed and appreciated!
Thank you for your time and consideration. Feel free to contact me by phone or email if you have any questions or concerns.
I hope we can count on your support!

Lets Get Started Helping Kids go Back to School this Year in Style --Any Donation Accepted

Every year, the Salvation Army and your donations support families in need across Canada by supplying backpacks filled with school supplies to children.

The team looks great – matching jerseys and socks, smiling faces, and rosy cheeks. Being part of a community soccer team in Nova Scotia gives kids a sense of belonging, acceptance and confidence. Sometimes there’s comfort in knowing that you fit in, that you’re like everyone else.
But if you don’t fit in, going back to school can feel stressful.
Every year, Capital Inter-District Soccer League (CISL) tries to calm the stress of getting back to school ready by donating hundreds of backpacks filled with school supplies—pencil cases, three ring binders, notebooks—to children in need through the Salvation Army's Backpacks for Kids program. However the need is greater than what the CISL can support alone.
With the school year approaching, many parents in the HRM lack the money to purchase back-to-school supplies.
As our contribution, CISL hosts the Jamboree and Challenge Cup tournaments the second last weekend in August - at the end of the soccer season. There is no registration fee to enter this final tournament; however we ask for donations of backpacks filled with school supplies - or money donations - for children in need for the following school year. CISL asks any donations be dropped off at the CISL offices at 210 Thomas Raddall Drive in Halifax, Nova Scotia anytime before Aug. 25, 2017.
With a limited promotion budget and resources to supply the backpacks ourselves, CISL asks for the public’s support this summer in spreading the word of this important initiative. The goal is to collect 200 backpacks filled with school supplies.
Help us pull the team together so everyone can belong this school year.
