The Capital Inter-District Soccer League (CISL) operates the public tier 2 soccer league in Halifax, Dartmouth and surrounding areas in HRM. Growing consistently in numbers since being established in 1996, CISL currently has 250 teams registered for the 2015 summer season and hosts more than 20 clubs including teams from Halifax, Bedford, Dartmouth, Porters Lake, Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage, East Hants, Valley, Sackville, and more. Divisions under the CISL range from ages of Under 10 (8-9 years) to Senior Women (20 years +) and Adult Co-Ed.

The CISL organization is mandated to serve soccer players in developing athletic and teamwork skills in a social environment, to increase physical participation, and to provide play for any level of soccer at any age. The CISL does this through a community soccer league and engages volunteer participation through coaching and technical direction opportunities.
